Kai sat on the banks of the river, her eyes watching the flowing liquid below her. In it, ran silver streaks, swimming on and on down the river. Kai's black tail was wrapped around her bodice, her ears tilted forward. One salmon was lingering longer than the others for some reason, and Kai felt that this would be a perfect target.
She pushed herself forward into the water, her hind-legs remaining pretty close to the bank. Her head was thrust into the stream and onto the fish. She felt its wriggling form in her mouth, and in another swift movement, she had thrown it and herself onto the bank.
The fish danced about on the grass for a few seconds before going still. Kai sighed, Spring was a beautiful time. She walked slowly towards her catch and lay down by it, waiting a few seconds for the soul to leave the body, before grabbing it in her mouth and chewing it happily. It may have been a fish, but it still deserved respect.

Two icy grey eyes illuminated the shadows cast by a large tree lining the river. A shape was just visible - bulky and muscled, large auds and a tapering muzzle. Gaze followed the precise movements of the fishing fae, blank windows displaying no emotion.
Once the femme had reached the bank, drenched yet happy, a fish clamped between her ebony jaws, Heron got slowly to his feet, snowy pelt rippling. Auds perked, he stepped delibrately from ths shadows, gaze still traine don the munching Kai.
"Greetings." He said simply, seating himself on his haunches, tail wrapping neatly about his solid haunches.

Two crystal blue eyes watched from the shadows, a small pink tongue hanging out of the Fae's mouth. She sank down defensively, slowly padding out to meet the other two. Her ears pricked up she buckled her front legs and sank into a haughty bow, her muzzle inches away from the ground.
Rising again a wolfish smile spread across her face as her rear end lowered until she was sitting.
"Greetings." [/sup]

Heron Oak watched with impassive eyes as another joined the small party, although inside he was curious. The forest is home to many more wolves than it was. He mused silently, then. I wonder where Tai is..... he hasn't been around lately. Perhaps he's met up with some others, too.
Heron dipped his head to Cheyenne, running a pink tongue slowly, thughtfully over his pale jaws. After a moment, he whipped his tongue back inside, snapping his jaws shut.
ooc: Bad post..... nothing really to say. hehe.

OOC|| Know what you mean ^^
The Fae flicked her tail to one side, wagging it slowly. Ivory claws kneaded into the soft ground as she watched the Brute with interest. She had had no idea that other Wolves were in this forest, she had guessed that it was empty.
"May I ask for a name?"
She directed it towards the Brute, but looked at the other Fae. [/sup]

Heron's steely eyes flitted to Cheyenne's face, his auds swivelling round to catch her words. His brow furrowed very slightly as he mused over her question. It's been a long time since anyone's asked me for a name..... He thought.
"Heron Oak." The brute finally replied, sweeping into a low bow. When he raised his head, his lips were carved into a small smile. "And you are?"
He looked from femme too femme, and found that he was quite enjoying their company. The only company he had had to enjoy for the past year was his brother's, and although he loved Tai dearly, it was nice to have a change. Especially to be able to speak to a femme. The last female I've conversed with was my mother.....

"I was dubbed Cheyenne."
Her crystal eyes watched his closely, searching them for his personality. He seemed a kind Wolf, yet she could see from the steely glaze that he had been through much. Not unlike herself. The last person she'd spoken to was her father, and that was over 2 years ago. Travelling alone was a harsh life, yet she'd had no choice.
Slightly wary of the Brute she rose, padding in a small circle to stretch her short legs before resuming her sitting position. [/sup]

Heron nodded slowly as she gave her name, and he locked it carefully into his memory banks, along with her appearance and scent. His gaze flitted to the other, ebonte femme, who hadn't spoken much, before returning to Cheyenne, who was now padding restlessly in circles.
What the heck is she doing? Heron thought, his brow furrowing and his smile fading. He noticed the female was slightly tense, and ran a tongue over his lips.
"And what brings you too Salvation Forest, Cheyenne?" He questioned in his deep, gravelly tone, tilting his head a tiny amount to the right.

"I was banished from my pack. I have been travelling alone for some time, and stumbled across this beautiful place."
She lifted her front paw, tediously cleaning it with a pink tongue. Her muzzle twitched as her eyes continued to watch him, taking in his features carefully. She replaced her paw on the ground as her gaze continued to watch the Brute intently.
"And what brings you here? Have you a pack?" [/sup]

Auds twitched as Cheyenne spoke, and alarm flashed across the brute's face, although he quickly replaced the emotion with a mask of calm.
Banished from her pack? He thought, scrutinising the female with hard grey eyes. He snorted softly, suddenly realising that she had questioned him, and drew himself up to his full height before answering.
"I was born here, m'lday. My father's pack left after he died, but I decided to remain - along with my brother, Tai. And no, I have no pack of my own. I am a wanderer, a kerl, you might call me...." He trailed off, his compusure remaining cool, while a battle raged beneat his skin - whether or not to question her on her old pack. After a moment, curiousity triumphed over the brujo's better nature, and he parted his jaws to form the question. "If I may be so bold to ask, why were you banished from your past pack?"

The Fae's eyes searched his, wondering if she could trust him. Looking into them deeply she found their source, deciding that she might as well. It would come out sooner or later.
"I fell for an outsider. My Pack was very strict with rules."
Keeping it brief she ran her tongue along her ivory teeth, watching the Brute's face for a reaction carefully. [/sup]

Heron nodded, his alarm fading. Is that all? He thought, remembering the beta's daughter. She had fallen in love with an outsider - one from far South, Heron remembere him having a heavy accent. The brute had been welcomed with open arms into the pack when they had been informed of the relationship.
"I'm sorry, and I apologise. It wasn't my business to pry." He dipped his head, averting his gaze to show that he meant his apology.
ooc: Bleh. I'm definately not on my best at rping today.

OOC|| *patpat*
A smile crept up the Fae's face as she realised she wasn't being rejected again. Relaxing both her frame and her mind she lay down, her grey-white pelt glistening slightly in the weak sunlight.
"Do not worry. I am grateful that you are not like my old pack."
She bowed her head slightly as both a sign of respect and gratitude before continuing to watch his worn features intently. [/sup]
