Auds of midnight hue pricked as voices traveled with the winds. Amber occuli blinked as an ebonite figure pulled himself up onto his pistons from a lying position on the earth.
Tai snorted softly as his brother's scent hit him in the nares. Yet strangers were also there and Tai, obeying his curiosity, pulled himself out of the bush in which he was resting, and slunk lazily toward the newcommers.
Instantly his hackles rose as he surveyed Heron and the two femoras. Did Heron have a pack already? Tai's optics narrowed and decided he didn't care.
"This your pack Heron?" he asked.

Heron smiled, dipping his snout in agreement. He was also immensly glad that he was not similair to her old pack.
Suddenly, Heron's auds twitched, his nares flaring. Large cranium slowly turned until leaden eyes fell upon the dark form of his slightly older brother, Tai. A small smile shaped Heron's maw, and he got to his feet and turned to face his sibling.
Tai's words caused him laugh inwardly, and on the exterior his smile broadened slightly, auds twitching to display his amusement. He glanced from femme to femme, then shook his head.
"No, brother. In fact, we have only just met." He said in his gruff voice, he then turned to Cheyenne, the only femme who's name he knew. "Cheyenne, this is Tai, my brother. Tai, this is Cheyenne."
Heron nodded at both, before sinking to his haunches, gaze flitting from face to face, occuli once again impassive.

The Fae's ears pricked up as another approached, and she sank down defensively once again. No Growl came from her but her crystaline eyes flashed from Heron to his brother and back again, her fear subsiding as Heron spoke calmly to the other Brute. Raising herself and relaxing her frame she dipped her head in respect before sitting once again.
"Greeting Tai. Indeed we have just met, but why did you enquire to whether your brother had found a pack?"
Her ears still pricked her eyes turned to him, taking in his features before inspecting his eyes. [/sup]

Tai's ebonite pinnae flicked as Heron answered his question. His occuli slid from the figure of his brother to the figure of the femme, Cheyenne. Tai studied her briefly before nodding to Heron to say he'd understood his answer.
The black mascu then sank to his midnight haunches as Cheyenne began to question him.
"'Lo." Tai replied, dipping his maw in a quick nod of greeting. He considered her question for a few moments.
"If this was indeed my brother's pack, then I doubted I would be welcome on his, ah, new land." He finished, glancing sideways at Heron before fixing a small smile to his maw.

The Fae's crystal blue eyes flickered from Tai to Heron, resting on Heron for a few seconds before flickering back to Tai again. She nodded her answer as a pink tongue ran over her ivory teeth thoughtfully. Her gaze then turned to Heron as she awaited to see what would happen next.
Slightly unsure of herself Cheyenne stood once again, her tail lashing around to flick away the flies who were resting on it. She had not been in the company of a Brute since her father, and then she had been banished from the pack. This new Brute seemed trusting, yet she sensed something about him that was not to trust. The other brute, Heron, she trusted him. [/sup]

Kai had not spoken, for the simple reason that there were other things on her mind, about all that had happened in the past few months. All she could remember was running, running through the forest as fast as she could. But something made her sit up, something brought her back to the present. "I am sorry I was silent. I am Kai, pleasure to meet you all." She smiled briefly after wards, but her voice was still a little distant. She licked her lips to clean off the last bit of blood from her meal, and now watched the others' expressions. No doubt they thought she was mad or something, but she was not. She was just misunderstood, and a long way from home.

Tai's gaze rested on Cheyenne for a little longer until his optics shot to Kai as the other ebonite wolven apologised for her lack of voice.
"Tai," he said in return, realising how similar their names were.
He then stiffled a yawn and plodded right up to the river bank, intending to catch himself a fish. He sank once more to his haunches and waited silently and completely still for the right moment to strike.

Heron's brow furrowed at Tai's answer to Cheyenne's question. Although he had known the brute all his life, he had never quite understood him.
"You will always be welcome with me, brother." Heron said solemnly, catching the black brute's gaze and holding it for a moment, before allowing it to dance away.
Heron was slightly startled by Kai's voice, for she had not spoken during the whole conversation, and although she had been there - a black smugde in the corner of his vision - he had almost forgotten about her.
"Greetings, Kai." The brute said, ignoring the fact that her name rhymed with his brother's - a fact slightly less mature wolves may find highly amusing. "The pleasure is all mine." He dipped his head.

Cheyenne's head dipped in a greeting to the fellow Fae, knowing she had already spoken her name. Noticing that her name rhymed with the Brutes, but nothing more than noticing, she lay herself down, too bothered to go catch herself a fish. Watching the small group with who she had become aqquainted (sp?) she tilted her head, wondering what would become of them. Would they perhaps form a pack? Her pink tongue ran over her teeth again thoughtfully as her ears pricked up. She would like another pack. But she must be patient. [/sup]

Kai dipped her head to Heron, Cheyenne and Tai, and smiled at them in turn. She watched as Tai went over to the stream, obviously to catch himself a fish. It was odd how their names were similar, but she thought nothing of it.
She relaxed slightly in her stance, and allowed her tail to curl around her again. She closed her golden eyes briefly, before opening them once more, to gaze at their surroundings. She had to admit, it was quite beautiful here.
The thought of a pack had popped into Kai's mind. It would be nice to settle down, with friends, and perhaps a mate. But whether these wolves would be part of it, only time would tell.

Cheyenne's maw opened again, ivory teeth visable as she yawned. Kneading her claws into the ground the Fae glanced around this 'pack' before rising onto all fours. She buckled her front two legs into another haughty bow before her eyes canned everyone else's.
"I shall go explore this terrain more. Maybe we will meet again."
Her eyes rested on Heron, the first wolf with who she had become aqquainted, before casting downwards as she padded away silently. [/sup]

Heron smiled, inclining his head in farewell to Cheyenne. Grey eyes followed her until she faded into the undergrowth, before returning his attention to the two ebonite hued wolves - Tai and Kai.
Grey gaze lingered on his brother's face for a moment, he flitted upwards, to the heavens which were slowly darkening - a few lonely stars already scattered across its never ending bulk.
"I, too, will take my leave now." The pale wolf stated gruffly, rising to four pillars and making a shallow bow in Kai's direction. He nodded curtly to Tai, then turned and set off at a steady, unhurried lope.

Tai watched Cheyenne leave followed shortly by Heron. Perhaps it was high time he too set out to explore? Maybe he could find a good place to set up a pack if that was what he wanted to do. He turned his ebonite dial in Kai's direction.
"I'm off, too," he said, giving a small dip of his maw, "See you round..."
Feeling slightly awkward, Tai got to his mitts and bounded away.
Ooc| Gah really rubbish...=]

Kai bowed her head and nodded as the wolves departed in turn. She would also go exploring, for this land could offer things that she had not yet found. So she rose to her pads and trotted off in different directions to the others....she was sure they would meet again.
OOC: Same! Gah!
