Carmel lay in the dense thicket of the forest, she sighed deeply while she closed her eyes for a second, allowing the fresh small of the pine caress her nares. She opened them up once again and rested her cranium on her paws. She could feel her stomach begin to tighten as the overwhelming thought of food came to mind. ‘Perhaps a deer would fill me up’ she thought, but a lone wolf against a strong buck or doe?
Discouraged, she got up and sauntered elsewhere. Her weakened pistons carried her out to a stream where a small patch of sunlight shone through the branches of a large tree. She sat and allowed her emerald spheres to stray and study her surroundings. She shook her soft grey pelt, allow the debris to fly everywhere.
Her nares assumed control as it caught a slight scent of a few wolves, then a cadre. Her lips parted, revealing a slight smile of excitement. She was just upon the outskirts of their packlands, but nay she did not want to trespass on to someone else’s land who knows what the circumstances would be. She knew how one would feel about that. She was known in former packs as the attractive, fiery, intelligent wolf who initially assumed control of the pack, the reason being why she was made alphess of a former pack . She was the type that was fiercely moral and determined that something positive always comes out of something, which can lead her into being hard on others, particularly herself.
But really, Carmel was a sensitive, caring soul who has had a longing for love deep inside her, and someday she hoped to find this in another pack. But she keeps this agenda hidden, fearing that to reveal it will make her weak.
She got on her mitts and sauntered over to a higher piece of land, somewhat tripping over the rocks and dirt. She found a place, semi-rocky yet a bit soft from the cold earth. And so she did it, bringing her cranium skywards and releasing a howl of greeting. Once she finished she put her head back into its normal posistion while she waited for a reply.
