The glistening white-grey pelt of Cheyenne padded through the undergrowth, not making a sound. Her ears pricked up for any sign of wildlife, her frame tense, she put her nose to the ground to pick up a scent. Picking up one, she snarled slightly, not recongnising it. She lifted her head high, letting loose a single, lonely howl to the black night sky.
Dropping her head to the ground once more she followed a different scent, one of comfort. Reaching her destination she looked up, her ears pricked as she inspected the place she had decided to call home for now. Several knarled branced formed a small hollow in the ground, moss lining the bottom. Climbing in, the Fae marked her new territory before padding restlessly around the 'bed' in deep thought.
She know knew that several wolves inhabited this forest, yet she was almost certain that there was no pack. She was more of a loner by mature, yet she would have liked a pack. However, the sight of all these lone wanderers with no-where to go made the Fae restless as she layed herself down and put her head on her paws. Her crystal blue eyes stared out of the darkness as she contemplated her options. To leave, and perhaps never find a pack or a place as beautiful as this. Or to stay, and fight against herself not to snarl at every passing wolf. [/sup]

Salmon pink tongue lolled from parted jaws as a femme trotted lightly through the undergrowth, panting comfortabley. Jade eyes absorbed the pretty scenery with interest, and tail was held erect, auds perked.
Suddenly, the small grey wolfess halted in her tracks, her nares flaring to allow the scet of another of her kin into her system. A small, friendly smile shaped her maw, and she began to walk again, following the scent closely.
Soon enough, Mouse emerged into a large clearing, In the middle stood a large oak, and her eyes lit up as she saw it. Wow! That's huge! I wonder how long it's been standing there? She thought, her pace slowing to a steady walk.
Mouse was snapped out of her admiration of the oak as her shins bumped lightly against a large, thick tree root. Maw was lowered, and suddenly the smell grew remarkabley, stroner. Jaden occuli rested upon the grey-white form of Cheyenne, and Mouse released a friendly bark, leaping nimbly onto the large root and staring down at the other femme.
"Hiya!" She exclaimed, tail wagging. "Names Mouse."

The Fae jumped to her feet, her hackles raised with her upper lip curled. She snarled lightly, before stopping as she tilted her head slightly, her ears pricked up. She extended her head towards the Fae, taking in her scent before growling slightly. She had never met someone so happy, or playful, no one but a cub. This wolf was unlike one she had ever seen before.
Still contemplating whether to leave these places or not, the Fae sat herself down with her tongue hanging out.
"Cheyenne." [/sup]

Mouse's brow furrowed at the femme's hostile appearance, and she got to her feet warily, eyes narrowed, aud spricking to take in her name.
"Alright, Cheyenne...." She said, still standing. "No need to get all tetchy..... I'm just being friendly."
But Cheyenne seemed to have relaxed now, and so Mouse decided to follow suite, sititng down heavily, tongue once again rolling out of parted jaws.
"So, what're you doing here all alone?" She questioned, tilting her head to the side.

A smile broke upon the Fae's maw as she lowered herself further, lying down with her head on her paws. She hadn't realised until a minute ago just how exhausted she was.
"I'm more of a loner. I was with a few other wolves, but I prefer being by myself, or in a small group. I only enjoy large groups when they are packs." [/sup]

Mouse's brow rose as Cheyenne spoke. Alright, alright! No need to recite your life story! She thought, grinning. And she didn't even answer my question properly.
"Ok...... so, have you been here for a while? In the forest, I mean?" She asked after a long pause, slightly indignant that Cheyenne had not shown much interest in her, and had not asked about her at all.
She did look a bit glum.... I wonder if anything's the matter. Mouse thought, tilting her head to the side.
"Oh, and you looked a bit upset earlier. Anything the matter?" She added brightly.

The Fae smiled, pricking up her ears as she was asked more questions. She could tell this femme was younger than her, yet she could see that the small Wolf had been born into a pack. She lifted her head, her eyes examining the Fae's.
"Not long."
She said a brief answer, her brow rising as she was asked yet another question. She contemplated her answer, wondering whether it would be safe to relieve herself of her emotions.
"I was contemplating whether or not to leave this beautiful forest. I would like to stay here, but there are many wolves, with no pack. I was wondering whether to seek companionship elsewhere."
She tilted her head slightly, believing her answer to be detailed enough for the other. A small smile crept up her maw as she extended her head slightly.
"What about you? What are you doing here?" [/sup]

Mouse nodded in reply to her first answer, auds pricking to catch her second. Her brow furrowed, and she tilted to her side.
"That's stupid." she said bluntly. "You say there are lots of wolves with no pack..... lots of wolves seeking companionship probably, much like yourself. Yet you wish to leave? I don't understand your motivation....."
Mouse grinned - she hadn't meant to seem rude, but it wasn't in her nature to conceal her thoughts and emotions. She said what she wanted to say when she wanted to say it.
"I've been here for about a day...... its fun here, a lot to do. I think I'll stay." She explained, lifting a paw to casually lick it, green eyes twinkling merrily.

The Fae tilted her head at the other fae's answer, contemplating it. She had never though of it that way. Perhaps this young femme was right. She had often found that younger wolves had the better ideas.
"I had never thought of it that way. Perhaps I may take your advice..."
She smiled, nodding her head slightly in gratitude as her small pink tongue ran over her teeth.

Mouse grinned, springing to her feet suddenly and nodding.
"Good. I usually give good advice." She said. "I hope everything turns out well. See ya round!"
And with that, she turned sharply and bounded off into the forest, small paws skimming the ground, stringy muscles hepling agile limbs to propel her forwards gracefully.

Cheyenne watched what she hoped to be a new friend go as she re-entered her 'den' and once again settled down. Thinking over the Fae's advice she thought about how she might like another friend, something she has never contemplated before. Amber eyes watched from the shadow of her new home as the Fae reamained deep in thought.

Already bored of the Crimson Meadow, Tai had dragged his ebonite bulk toward the Old Oak Clearing. He remembered coming here when he was a pup, marveling at how big the trees where and fascinated that this place shared the same name as him. He snorted at himself as he walked onward, only pausing when his nares caught two wolf scents. One he remembered belonged to the femme Cheyenne...but the other was unfamiliar. Tai growled softly at this, his hackles bristling.

Mouse, who had been running for less that a minute, skidded to a halt suddenly as her auds perked to catch a distant growl, coming from the direction she had come from. The young grey femme turned on her heel, tilting her head to the side to listen. When no more sounds came, her brow furrowed.
I hope that Cheyenne fae is ok. She thought, auds flattening against her skull.
I better go check it out. Mouse thought, and broke into a swift run, retracing her pawsteps back to the clearing.
As the trees began to slowly thin out, a pungent scent hit her nares. She had smelled it before, but had passed it off as one of the many smells that lingered about the forest. However now it was strong, and she could distinguish it as that of a male wolf.
He must be the one who growled... unless it was Cheyenne. Mouse thought, speeding up slightly. Soon enough, she had stopped at the edge of the clearing and found herself gazing at the back of a large black brute, who she instantly classed as hostile as his hackles were bristling.
"Excuse me," Mouse began cooly, standing up straight and lifting her tail. "But what are you growling at?"

A noise from amongst the trees caused a second growl to erupt from Tai's lips as his amber occuli danced around the forest, searching for an intruder. It was then that that unfamiliar scent hit him again and a voice suddenly spoke, making Tai whip round and come face to face with Mouse. So, this was the intruder. He bared his teeth at her.
"I was growling," he growled, "because I sensed a stranger in the forest."
Tai studied her, thinking that she wouldn't be much of a threat. His hackles flattened.
"What business do you have here?" he then asked bluntly.

The grey femme of a slight build raised an eyebrow at the brute's reply, looking deeply cynical. She waited for him to completely finish speaking before replying.
"You don't need to know my business, mate. This isn't your forest, and I have just as much right to be here as you, thank you very much."
Mouse's ears flattened against her skull, her tail hoisting itself up until it was parallel with her body.
"If you'll excuse me, I'm going to check on my friend." And she stalked past Tai with a huff, making a beeline over to Cheyenne.
Gaze raked the hollow between the tree's trunks where she had last seen the white-grey female, and after a moment rested upon her. A smile shaped Mouse's maw, and she inclined her head.
"Hi, Cheyenne. Long time no see." She joked, smile becoming a grin. "I just came to check on you after I heard a growl." She jerked her head in the direction of Tai and rolled her eyes.
"What is it with males, eh? They always seem to think they own the world and that any stranger is an intruder." Mouse complained, shaking her crania, plume swaying good-naturedly.
